< p>President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke at the UN Security Council meeting held on September 20 on the topic: “Upholding the principles and goals of the UN Charter through effective multilateralism: maintaining the peace and security of Ukraine”.

The Ukrainian president noted: “Ukrainian soldiers are now doing with their blood what the UN Security Council should do with their votes: stopping aggression and protecting the principles of the UN Charter.” I will give an example of concrete actions that must be implemented in order for the security architecture to be strong.

First: the complete withdrawal of all Russian troops and military formations, including the Russian Black Sea Fleet or those leaky troughs that will remain from it in time war, as well as the withdrawal of all mercenaries and quasi-military formations of Russia from the entire sovereign territory of Ukraine within our internationally recognized borders of 1991″.

He continued: “When I was preparing the Ukrainian peace formula, I used the principles of the UN Charter and the resolutions adopted by the General Assembly as a basis for its points. The nations that join the work with the Formula realize that they are working for an international order based on rules, for the protection of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of states, the protection of human rights, the prevention of aggression and genocidal policies.

The epicenter of such work is be this hall – hall of the UN Security Council and to an even greater extent – hall of the General Assembly. If for this it is necessary to carry out a reform of the UN institutions, then we should not be afraid of reform. We are ready to work together with UN members participating in the Peace Formula on relevant draft resolutions and amendments to the UN Charter.

"All nations of the world who respect peace can really take part in restoring peace. . Cooperation – it is always a key word for Ukraine in international relations. This is the key word for peace. So let peace reign! May your institutions and our cooperation become stronger,” Zelenskyy summed up.
