Ukraine's acrobatic ski team won its first victory at the World Cup level in the 2022/23 season. It happened in the men's competition at the fourth stage of the World Cup in Deer Well, USA . This reports Ministry of Youth and Sports.
21-year-old freestyler Dmitry Kotovsky performed a super-difficult bFtFF jump in the superfinal – a triple somersault with five screws called “Hurricane” (difficulty – 5.2 points) and received from the judges 138.32 out of 156 possible points.
The Ukrainian became the second athlete in history to successfully complete it at the competition. This achievement became a new record for Ukraine, and Dmitry Kotovsky won his first victory at the World Cup.
Ukrainian "flying skier" rose to second place in the overall World Cup standings, only 18 points behind the leader, Swiss Noah Roth, and joined the fight for the Crystal Globe.
For Kotovsky – this is the first victory in his career at the World Cup level. And also the third podium of the season: he was third and second in the previous two stages. So, in the overall World Cup standings, the 21-year-old Ukrainian rose to second place.
