Modernized Ukrainian cruise missile "Neptune" already within a year it has been successfully striking ground targets at a distance of up to 400 km. In the future, its range may increase to 1,000 km, which will exceed the characteristics of the German TAURUS missile, whose range is 500 km. According to military analysts and observers of military weapons, the modernization of Neptune ; is an important part of the Ukrainian military strategy, as it provides an opportunity to more effectively destroy enemy targets at long distances. This will significantly strengthen the country's defense capability and allow combat operations to be conducted over a much wider territory.

Classic «Neptune» developed in 2018, the missile's flight speed is 900 km/h, and range — about 300 km. The first samples of “Neptune” handed over to the Naval Forces of Ukraine on March 15, 2021. Improved version of “Neptune” currently launched from the same launcher as the anti-ship variant. It has a range of about 400 km and carries about 350 kg of payload.
