Ukrainian books were included in the honorable list of the best children's books of 2024

The International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) recently announced the Honorable List of the best children's books of 2024.

The list of the best books was published on the award's website.

The list of literature is formed every two years from the outstanding works of writers, illustrators and translators from all over the world. In 2024, the catalog included 189 publications from 68 countries.

Which Ukrainian books were included in the list:

  • Ukrainian edition of the book “How to find a lion?” Rachel Bright with illustrations by Jim Field, translated by Hanna Yanovska (Ranok publishing house);

The awarding of diplomas took place on September 1, 2024 at the IBBY World Congress in Trieste. The books of the winners will be presented at world exhibitions in Sweden, Japan, Korea, Frankfurt and Bologna.

IBBY was founded in 1953 as a non-profit organization in Switzerland, the purpose of which is to promote books for children . It consists of more than 70 national sections, including IBBY Canada, IBBY Ireland, IBBY Australia, USBBY (USA), the Ukrainian section of IBBY, etc.
