Ukrainian Armed Forces Strikes Deep into Russia: Spanish Defense Ministry Makes Statement

The Spanish Defense Ministry made a statement regarding possible strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Russian territory with long-range weapons. This was reported by La Razon, citing the words of Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles.

The minister noted that her country adheres to the policy of not providing weapons to Ukraine that are capable of striking Russia. The assistance provided is limited to equipment for defensive purposes. This distinguishes the country's approach from Britain and the United States, which have allowed their missiles to be used in such strikes.

“The equipment we have sent is not relevant to this situation,” she said, adding that Spain's support for Ukraine remains unwavering.

The publication noted that Russia sent a serious warning by launching its first intercontinental missile (RS-26 Rubezh) since the war began in the morning. It fell on a city in central Ukraine, causing fires and serious damage. The projectile was not nuclear-tipped and had a range of up to 6,000 kilometers.

“This is a response to Ukraine's salvo of Storm Shadow cruise missiles provided by the United Kingdom in recent hours. On Tuesday, Joe Biden gave Kyiv permission to launch American long-range ATACMS missiles at Russian territory,” Spanish journalists write.
