Ukrainian and Czech engineers have developed a jet engine for drones

The Ukrainian company «Progres» together with the Czech company PBS, completed work on the development of the AI-PBS-350 jet engine for drones. This is stated in an information publication of the Polish publication Kresy, the translation of which is offered by Foreign Ukraine.

In July 2024, PBS presented at the Farnborough Air Show a finished model of the AI-PBS-350 engine, which was developed jointly with the Ukrainian company «Progress».

The new engine was optimized specifically for use in unmanned aerial vehicles and other military projects.

Start of serial production of engines on at the company's plant in Velké Bytěš (Czech Republic) is expected in the first half of 2025. Initially, it will be several dozen engines per year, and later the planned production volumes will reach hundreds of units.

«Cooperation between the two companies is developing rapidly, so Czech plants will soon be able to supply products to the world market», – said Pavel Chehal, Managing Director of PBS Group.

PBS Group reported that in 2024 its jet engine production increased by approximately 300% compared to 2023. In 2025, this growth is expected to exceed 200%.
