Ukraine plans to create a 1,300-kilometer drone defense system

The Ukrainian company Kvertus, specializing in anti-drone technologies, presented the «Atlas» project — a large-scale anti-drone defense system that will cover 1,300 kilometers.

The project involves the integration of existing Kvertus anti-drone systems already operating at the front. These include:

• Mirage electronic warfare system — electronic warfare means;
• Azimuth — aircraft detection stations.

Thanks to centralized management, these systems will be combined into a single ecosystem, which will ensure reliable protection of strategic facilities. The range of one section will range from 25 to 50 kilometers.

According to Kvertus, «Atlas» has several key advantages:

• Large range;
• Protection from enemy electronic intelligence;
• Absence of Chinese components;
• Long autonomous operation;
• High level of cybersecurity.

The project ambassador is fencer Olga Kharlan. The presentation was attended by military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who emphasized the importance of such initiatives for the country's defense.

According to preliminary calculations, the cost of creating «Atlas» is estimated at 5.2 billion hryvnias.
