Ukraine is improving its missile weapons: expert names promising models

Ukraine is improving its missile weapons. In the second half of the year, we will be able to see concrete results, which will be reflected, in particular, on the front itself.

This opinion was expressed by aviation expert Konstantin Kryvolap. On the air of the FREEDOM TV channel, he noted that Ukraine uses both old developments, and has new models of missiles. For example, the latest version of the Neptune missile can already cover a distance of 400 km and has a 350 kg warhead.

“Before that, the ship version had a range of 300 km and the warhead was only 150 kg. That is, this is a significant increase. And at the end of 2023, Kamyshin stated that the Neptune was capable of flying 670 km. I believe in this figure, apparently, the 400-plus range is now being finalized so that in the future the warhead would not be 350 kg, but a little less, but the rocket could fly a longer range,” the expert explained. According to Kryvolap, Ukraine should produce 50-70 Neptunes every month. It is better to reach 100 units. He also spoke about the production of ballistics in Ukraine. In this area, all hopes are for the “Sapsan” or “Grom-2” to be put into operation.

“This is a complex that, when implemented for the Ukrainian army, was supposed to fly at a range of 500 km. I think that after the termination of all obligations under the treaty on the limitation of medium- and shorter-range missiles, Ukraine is generally free in terms of ranges and we can go to much greater ones. I would not be surprised if “Pivdenmash” releases from its reserves some project for 1.5-2 thousand real effective ballistic missiles, because there is experience in this direction,” – continued Kryvolap.

In addition, the “Bureviy” and “Vilkha” multiple launch rocket systems have prospects. The expert says that these projects demonstrated great potential.

“But they hit at a distance of about 130-150 km, which allows them to inflict damage on damage in areas,” – added Kryvolap.
