Secretary of State Antony Blinken meets with Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on the sidelines of the ASEAN summit in Phnom Penh, Cambodia
The minister of Ukrainian Foreign Affairs, Dimitro Kuleba, announced this Saturday the shipment of more US military aid after meeting with the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, in Pnom Penh, Cambodia .
“I have met with Secretary Blinken (…). I have thanked him for the upcoming decisions to send more advanced military materiel”, Kuleba reported in a message posted on Twitter.
In addition, Kuleba has mentioned the recent recapture of the city of Kheron by the Ukrainian military forces. “I have emphasized that when you see the residents of Kherson tearfully welcoming their liberators, we also feel grateful to the United States and the American people for all their help,” he said.
Kuleba has met with Blinken at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit ( ASEAN) taking place these days in the Cambodian capital.
Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky wrote on social media Friday that the southern city of Kherson was “our ” after Russia announced that it had completed its withdrawal from the regional center.
“Our people. Our. Kherson”, Zelensky wrote on Telegram alongside an emoji of a Ukrainian flag and an amateur video that appeared to show Ukrainian troops meeting with city residents.
“Today is a historic day We are retaking Kherson. For now, our defenders are on the outskirts of the city. But the special units are already in the city, ”he wrote on Telegram.

Ukrainian troops entered the southern city of Kherson on Friday, where the blue and yellow flag was flown again shortly after the Russian army complete its withdrawal from the right bank of the Dnieper River.

Kiev thus abandoned the initial skepticism with which it received the news of the Russian withdrawal two days ago and claimed victory in Kherson, the biggest it has had in almost nine months of Russian military intervention.
Ukraine recognized this Friday the withdrawal announced by Russia from an area of the Kherson region, in the south of the country, as another important victory in a territory that Moscow claimed as its own.
“Ukraine wins another important victory now and prove that no matter what Russia does, Ukraine is going to win,” said Kuleba.
The Russian Army announced this Friday that it had completed the withdrawal of its troops from part of the Ukrainian region of Kherson, a new setback for Russia after almost nine months of its military offensive in Ukraine.
