TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Lawrence Keefe, the U.S. Legal professional for the Northern District of Florida, is resigning from his place, in line with a Division of Justice public data officer.
Keefe’s resignation is efficient this Sunday, Feb. 28. First Assistant Jason Coody, who served as Keefe’s deputy prosecutor, will take the function of performing U.S. Legal professional on March 1 till the following nominee is confirmed and appointed, the DOJ spokesperson says.
This information comes as President Joe Biden’s administration requested Trump-appointed U.S. attorneys to step down from their posts. Based on a CNN report, 56 Senate-confirmed U.S. attorneys Donald Trump appointed have been requested to resign.
Keefe served because the U.S. Legal professional for the Northern District of Florida for just a little over two years, as he was confirmed in Jan. 2019.
