WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Two senior U.S. lawmakers on Wednesday stated the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has failed to show over a report back to Congress on airline engine security required underneath a 2018 regulation.

Sam Graves, the highest Republican on the Home of Representatives Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and Garret Graves, the senior Republican on the aviation subcommittee, cited Saturday’s engine failure on a United Boeing 777-200 airplane in urging the FAA to shortly submit the required report.
