Two versions of the processor are being created for the PlayStation 6 console

For PlayStation 6 consoles create two versions of the processor at once

An insider with the nickname KeplerL2, who often shares reliable information about "iron", reported that two versions of the SoC are being created for the next-generation PlayStation.

It is still unclear why this is needed. One of the versions — Sony is going to release a cheaper model of the PS6, something like the Xbox Series S. The second version — the company, in addition to the PS6, is preparing a portable console, and one more simple chip is needed for it.

The second scenario seems more likely. PlayStation Portal, despite negative reviews in the press, showed excellent sales. And the success of Steam Deck with competitors could force Sony to try again in the portable market. Especially since the company has a lot of experience.

In addition, Microsoft is rumored to be preparing a portable Xbox. Sony will have to respond to this with something.
