One of the regional branches of Polish Television is in mourning. A director associated with the station has passed away.

According to the “Pomponik” portal, J&zef Matusz, director of one of the regional branches of TVP, has died. He died after a serious illness, as reported by his mourning co-workers. “Too soon” – we read in the comments under the moving post.

Although J&zef Matusz was a lawyer by education, his love and passion was journalism. He was the director of the Rzeszów branch of TVP. He was highly regarded by his colleagues, who posted a moving farewell on social media.

“After an illness, at the age of 63, Józef Matusz – former director-editor-in-chief of TVP3 Rzeszów, press and television journalist, producer – died. He headed the Rzeszów branch of TVP from March 2016 to December 2023,” we read in a post on Facebook.

Matusz was a journalist for both local and national media. He also headed the Rzeszów branch of the Polish Press Agency. He also held the position of president of the Rzeszów branch of the Association of Polish Journalists.

In their farewell post, the co-workers of the late Józef Matusz emphasized that he not only cared about the attractiveness of TVP's schedule, but was also “a valued journalist with broad horizons”. He willingly shared his vast experience with adepts of journalism.

“He had many friends, he was a man with a great sense of humor. He died suddenly, this morning, as a result of a serious illness, which he did not talk about, about which he did not confide. He was 63 years old,” wrote the late journalist's colleagues.

The post was swarming with comments, in which not only were condolences extended to family and friends, but the deceased was also remembered as a “wonderful man”, “outstanding journalist” and “good friend” who “went way too soon”.
