The interlocutor added that this measure was taken due to the possible inclusion of Turkish banks in sanctions of the US Department of the Treasury. The  department previously warned foreign financial organizations against interacting with "Mir" cards  outside Russia.

"Operations on the"Mir" and related to  Russian currency, in our bank is not carried out, cards are not accepted by ATMs", — DenizBank's customer support service reported.

On September 19, the Halk TV channel announced the stopping work with the Russian payment system "Mir". This decision was also dictated by the unwillingness of the Turkish bank to fall under the sanctions of the US Department of the Treasury.

On September 16, the tends to stop the work of foreign banks with the Russian payment card system, which is the operator of the "Mir" system, spoke  and Managing Partner of GRM Law Firm Konstantin Karichev. In his opinion, the negative consequences for banks will be significantly higher than the income from operations with Russian cards. After all, if an organization falls under US sanctions, it will no longer be able to carry out dollar transactions.
