Turkey will build two large KCR-70M missile boats for the Indonesian Navy. In general, the details of the deal are not disclosed at this time, but it is known that the steel-cutting ceremony for the construction of the first of these two missile boats took place on October 31, 2024, which took place at the Turkish shipyard Sefine Shipyard.
This ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials of Turkey and Indonesia, and the very fact of the start of construction of such ships means a new phase of defense cooperation between the two countries. The Naval News portal writes about it.
From Defense Express, we outline two important points. The first – before that, Turkish ships had not produced “missile boat” class ships for export, so the contract for the Indonesian Navy promises to be an interesting page for the Turkish defense industry.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000And the second important point – the KCR-70M project itself looks quite interesting and attractive for use, including in the Black Sea. That is why the question is asked here that it would be interesting to put “Neptune” on such a ship.
If we go directly to the characteristics of the missile boats themselves under the KCR-70M project, then the following features should be highlighted there. To begin with, quite large dimensions – the length and width of the hull are 70 meters and 11.8 meters, respectively, water replacement – up to 850 tons.
The combined power plant looks particularly specific: three waterjet engines, two diesel engines and one gas turbine engine. The range and autonomy of the move are 1,600 miles and 7 days, respectively.
At the same time, the set of weapons consists of a 76-mm bow gun mount, eight launchers for anti-ship missiles, two 12.7 mm machine guns and a device for setting false targets-obstacles for countermeasures against the enemy PKR.
