Turkey successfully tested its own “Steel Dome” air defense system

Turkey has successfully tested its SIPER-2 air defense system, which is called “Steel Dome”. It is expected to be capable of shooting down missiles, fighter jets and other targets.

This was reported by the head of the Directorate of Defense Industry of Turkey Haluk Gyorgun, as well as the Turkish mass media NTV and Borsa Gündem.

This system was developed by the domestic companies Aselsan, Roketsan and T&uuml bitak SAGE. This air defense system consists of several parts: the Sungur anti-aircraft missile system, the SİPER long-range air defense system and the laser system.

Turkish “Steel Dome” is also equipped with a target identification system "own— someone else's» and can launch missiles simultaneously from 8 launchers, each of which launches 6 missiles.
