Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the start of laying a gas pipeline along the bottom of the Black Sea. This was reported by his press service.
It is noted that the head of state delivered his speech at the ceremony of lowering the first pipe under water.
“We are very pleased that we have reached such a critical stage of gas production in the Black Sea. In the first quarter of 2023, our national gas transmission system will receive 10 million cubic meters. m of gas,” Erdogan said.
He informed that, according to the plan, , gas production from the new field should reach its peak by 2026.
Recall that in August 2020, Turkey discovered the largest gas field in the history of the country, Sakarya, with a volume of 320 billion cubic meters, in the Black Sea. In November 2021, engineering work was completed on it.
