The election campaign of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has not paid bills in several cities where the politician has held rallies in recent years, ABC News reports.

According to the channel, “tens of thousands of bills” remain unpaid, while some city authorities have decided not to collect the required amounts from the politician.

In some cases, the Trump campaign owes half a million dollars for security at rallies and other expenses. Among the unpaid bills are:

  • El Paso, Texas – $569,000 unpaid;
  • Albuquerque, New Mexico – $444,900;
  • Tucson, Arizona – $145,200;
  • Erie, Pennsylvania – $98,100;
  • Eau Claire and Green Bay, Wisconsin – $47,000 and $33,000, respectively.

All of these cities intend to seek compensation for expenses through the courts. In some cases, the debts remain unpaid since Donald Trump's first campaign in 2016. Due to the debts, local governments are faced with “massive amounts of unforeseen expenses,” which forces them to go over their budgets.

Several cities have decided not to collect expenses for holding the politician's rallies. In particular, Rio Rancho, New Mexico, did not demand $240,000 from Trump, and Nassau County – $1 million, with the second amount only including payment for overtime work of police officers.

The US elections will be held on Tuesday, November 5. Donald Trump's opponent from the Democratic Party is Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump called his exit from the White House after the 2020 election defeat a mistake. According to The Washington Post, Europe is preparing for a “breakdown” with the US if the Republican wins again.
