The Trump house search scandal could be used by the Republican Party as part of an election campaign. To do this, Republicans are now advising the former president to publish video from the cameras that recorded the search.
Supporters Former US President Donald Trump is being urged to release CCTV footage of FBI agents executing a search warrant at his Mar-a-Lago residence.
The search records are kept so carefully that aides to the former president are not sure that he himself saw them in full, said a person close to Trump.
“I don’t think it was provided to anyone other than lawyers” , the man said.
Some Trump aides and allies have called on the former president to release some of these tapes, believing they could energize the Republican Party.
Allegedly, the party is discussing the benefits of using frames in advertising campaigns, believing that these frames can support Trump's claims of political persecution.
Another person close to Trump said the question is not whether the former president and his team will release any footage, but when they will. He is confident that the tapes will be made public before he announces the start of the campaign.
FBI agents raiding Mar-a-Lago seized at least 11 sets of classified documents, including some classified as top secret, which should only be available in special government offices.
FBI agents took about 20 boxes of belongings, folders of photographs, a handwritten note and an executive decision pardoning Trump ally Roger Stone appear in the list of seized property.
On Monday, the US Department of Justice said it opposed the release of a written statement of the prosecution (affidavit ), which prosecutors used to obtain permission from a federal judge to search Mar-a-Lago.
Trump, who claimed after the FBI raid that the agents may “plant” evidence in Mar-a-Lago, said on Monday that the records seized by the FBI were declassified.
“The country is in a very dangerous situation. There is huge anger like I've never seen before because of all these scams and this new one – years of scams and witch hunts and now this,” Trump said.
