In the final vote on Saturday afternoon, a majority of 57 of the 100 senators voted for Trump’s impeachment, but they were absentten votes to the required two-thirds majority. 43 of the 50Republicans supported the ex-president, includingthe influential parliamentary group leader Mitch McConnell.
