New British Prime Minister Liz Truss has accepted Volodymyr Zelensky's invitation to visit Ukraine in the near future. This was reported by the press service of the British government.
In her first telephone conversation with a foreign leader after joining the the position of Prime Minister of the Trails reaffirmed its full support for the Ukrainian leader and stated that Ukraine can count on long-term assistance from the UK.
The leaders of the two countries discussed the need to strengthen international security and the measures needed to cut off the flow of funds, financing the war machine of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Leaders “expressed regret” about the attempts of the head of the Kremlin to use energy as a weapon. The Prime Minister said that it is extremely important that Russian blackmail does not prevent the measure from failing Putin.
It is important that Ukraine succeeds and Russia fails, Truss noted.
Lise Truss also had a telephone conversation with Joe Biden. The new British prime minister and the US president agreed in the first telephone conversation to strengthen the defense alliance between the countries. The leaders also agreed to work on Russia's defeat in Ukraine .
