Specialists of the California Institute of Technology presented a new robot Multi-Modal Mobility Morphobot (M4), which can change the way of movement and shape. The model is capable of eight different types of movement, including driving, flying and walking.
The robot has wheels that can transform into quadcopter rotors, and it is also able to hover in a vertical position using only two wheels as rotors .
Morphobot has a small computer on the Jetson Nano platform, which allows it to navigate the terrain and make decisions about the required form of the robot.
Employees of the institute said that while working on Morphobot, they were inspired by meerkats and walruses.
As BAGNET reported, in October 2022 Ilon Musk presented a humanoid robot for $20,000.
