Law enforcement officers have exposed and detained a resident of Lyman, Donetsk region, who spied on Ukrainian military for the Russian occupiers for four months. This was reported by the information policy department of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office in Telegram on December 2.
“A resident of Lyman was exposed for helping the occupiers advance into the city. Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, the citizen was notified of suspicion of high treason (Part 2, Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the message said.
It is specified that in June 2024, a serviceman of the Russian Armed Forces contacted a resident of Lyman via the Telegram messenger. He offered the woman to help him carry out subversive activities against Ukraine. Having agreed, the agent performed the tasks of the so-called curator for 4 months. She collected and transmitted data on the locations of the National Police, SBU units, and Defense Forces equipment. The suspect sent screenshots of maps to the occupier with her own markings, thus facilitating the enemy's offensive actions in the Lymansky direction.
The suspect was placed in custody as a preventive measure.
