A 79-year-old Toronto driver faces one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder after police say he “intentionally” crashed into three people Wednesday, killing one and two seriously injured. The collision occurred around 12:40 p.m. Wednesday in a parking lot near Victoria Park Avenue in the northeast of Toronto. The victim, a 61-year-old woman, succumbed to her injuries in hospital. Two other people were seriously injured, but authorities do not fear for their lives. One fourth person suffered minor injuries. The defendant, Ciro Garofano, was arrested at the scene of the collision. He was due to appear in court Thursday morning.
