The two most popular brands Apple and Samsung occupied the entire top ten ranking, leaving no chance for competitors .

According to a recent report by Counterpoint Research, the global smartphone market was once again dominated by Apple and Samsung in the first quarter of 2024. The phones of these brands are among the top 10, writes Gizchina.

The list of best-selling smartphone models in the first quarter of 2024 is divided between two companies, with each brand occupying 5 places in the top. The long-term dominance of Apple and Samsung underlines their positions in the segment of premium smartphones, leaving no opportunity for other manufacturers to break into the upper ranks.

In  the report highlights a clear trend toward high-end devices: 7 out of 10 top-selling smartphones cost $600 or more.

Here is a list of the most popular phones that were bought most often in the first quarter of the current year:

  10. Samsung Galaxy A3

The leader of the rating was the iPhone 15 Pro Max from Apple. The success of this model reflects the growing preference of consumers for high-end smartphones with advanced features and capabilities. In fact, Apple's Pro line, which includes the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, accounted for 60% of the company's total sales in the first quarter of 2024, significantly more than in previous years.

Samsung also showed strong results with its Galaxy S24 series, especially the Ultra and base variants, which ranked fifth and ninth respectively. The success of the S24 series can be attributed to the early update of the Samsung model and the integration of generative artificial intelligence technology.
