Tokayev refused the Russian Order of Alexander Nevsky

The President of Kazakhstan Kassym Zhomart-Tokayev decided not to accept any awards, both Kazakh and and foreign, until the end of his powers as head of state. This is reported by Tengrinews with reference to the press secretary of the President of the Republic Ruslan Zheldibay.

Earlier, Kazakh political scientist Yerbol Edilov reported on his Telegram channel that Moscow allegedly offered to award Tokaev with the Order of Alexander Nevsky.

The President of Kazakhstan thanked the host for the honor, but refused the award, referring to the fact that he had decided not to accept either domestic or foreign awards in the status of head of state.

“For the same reason, during a recent visit in Bishkek, the president refused the highest Kyrgyz order «Manas» I degree»», — the political scientist clarified.

In turn, Tokayev's press secretary Ruslan Zheldibay, in response to a request from the agency, confirmed this information.

The day before, Tokayev took part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). He appeared on stage with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

During his speech, he stated that Kazakhstan was not going to recognize the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, calling them “quasi-state” territories.

He explained his position by the fact that if you follow the principle of the right of nations to self-determination, more than five hundred states can form on the planet, which will lead to chaos.
