The world is looking for an alternative way to generate energy. In particular, developments that allow the use of green energy are currently being actively developed.
Onyx Solar solar tiles are an ideal option for covering terraces, sidewalks and patios, as they can withstand loads of up to 400 kilograms per square meter. This is reported by 24 Channel with a reference to pv magazine.
Spanish manufacturer of innovative photovoltaic systems Onyx Solar has presented a new product – a solar tile that allows you to generate energy that you can safely walk on. This is reported by pv magazine.
Diego Cuevas, vice president of business development at Onyx Solar, emphasized that the tile is intended exclusively for pedestrian traffic. It is made of durable glass 8 millimeters thick and has an anti-slip surface.
According to the information on the portal, the tile is suitable for use on terraces, sidewalks or patios. Each element weighs 23 kilograms, has dimensions of 75×75 centimeters and a power of 75 watts. Custom tile sizes up to 4 meters by 2 meters are also available.
These tiles can be mounted on standard raised floors such as PVC polymer or metal pedestals, allowing electrical connections to be made on the back of each panel.
The company already supplies solar tiles to major clients such as Apple, as well as renowned institutions in Spain such as the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia and the Royal Theater in Madrid.
In New York, we have already supplied tiles for four private projects. As is known, real estate in this city is very expensive, and this product allows developers and building owners to generate renewable energy on site, without losing a single square meter of usable space, – noted Diego Cuevas.
