Three-month-old Gabryś was taken to hospital with a fever. The boy was dead the next day. The boy's family accuses the hospital staff of error

Three-month-old Gabryś died in hospital the day after being admitted to the ward.

As reported by the “Super Express” portal, three-month-old Gabryś was admitted to the Lubin hospital with a fever. There was no indication that the boy's heart would stop the following day. Unfortunately, the day after being admitted to the hospital, the infant's condition began to deteriorate rapidly until his heart stopped completely. Gabryś's distraught parents filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office, indicating improper care by the facility's staff.

Their son was taken to hospital with a fever

Mrs. Agnieszka and Mr. Adrian reported to the hospital with their three-month-old son. Apart from a fever, the boy was fine. Gabryś's mother was told by the doctor that such small children are admitted to the ward just in case.

On the second day after admission, the boy's mother noticed that the boy was “lethargic”. “When I was changing his diaper, I saw a hematoma on his groin, a kind of haemorrhage, he started having petechiae all over his body. They gave him some medicine. When I asked him why he had such a hematoma, I heard the answer that it could be from the fever,” the boy's mother said in an interview with “Fakt”.

The woman reports that her son was given antibiotics. Then the boy developed a thick discharge that made it difficult for Gabryś to breathe. When Mrs. Agnieszka asked the nurses to drain the accumulated discharge, she was told to give the boy something to drink because it was all due to the fever.

The boy's condition deteriorated rapidly worsened

The boy's mother told the daily that when his saturation began to drop, the nurses began to clear the mucus. The nurses allegedly claimed “that there was nothing in his nose or throat”. Later, the boy's heart stopped. A dramatic fight for his life began.

Although they managed to restore circulation, after fifteen minutes the boy's heart stopped again, this time forever.

The spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office in Lubin opened an investigation into the matter. Investigators want to determine whether the child received adequate medical care, which ultimately led to his death.
