In recent days, multiple cases of violence against women have been known in different territories of Colombia. Without downplaying the others, one of the most chilling is that of Paula Andrea Restrepo , an 18-year-old girl sexually abused, tortured and murdered in Andes, Antioquia.

Last Friday, November 4, the student disappeared. After leaving the Santa Rita Educational Institution, after noon, nothing more was heard from her.

Concerned by this fact that was not common, The young woman's relatives went to the authorities to request that they start searching.

The body of Paula Andrea Restrepo was found around 8:00 p.m. m. that same Friday on the side of a highway in the Santa Rita township, located in Andes, Antioquia.

The young woman's hands were tied, she showed signs of sexual violenceand multiple stab wounds, which would be precisely how they took his life.

Dismay and rejection

After learning of the unfortunate discovery, the Andean community and Antioquia in general rejected this femicide.

The educational community and the residents of the Santa Rita township held a Eucharist in honor of the murdered young woman and asked for justice, in addition to not continuing to present these types of acts against women.

< p class="paragraph">Faced with pressure from public opinion, which called for speed in the investigation to do justice in the atrocious case, the local and departmental authorities committed themselves to the victim's family so that this would not go unpunished.

It is worth remembering that the governor of Antioquia, Aníbal Gaviria, assured that all the institutions were willing to work to find the culprit of Paula Andrea Restrepo's crime.

< blockquote class="color_figcaption">“We are going to work very hard, institutionally, so that this heinous crime does not go unpunished. It is essential for society that there is justice,” said the departmental president at the time.

The alleged perpetrator was captured, escaped and was arrested again

With the pressure of the relatives and the community of Andes, Antioquia, above, the authorities quickly carried out investigative work that made it possible to locate the alleged perpetrator of the femicide.

Last Monday, November 7, a judge of guarantees Sent Carlos Arturo Mora Durán, alias Carlota, to jail.

The defendant was singled out for the crimes of femicide, torture and violent carnal access. It is noteworthy that when the Attorney General's Office charged alias Carlota, he accepted the charges, that is, he pleaded guilty.

Although the subject was captured, when he was in the San Rafael de Andes hospital he escaped. According to what was reported at the time, alias Carlota was transferred to that medical center to perform tests that would be compared with material found at the crime scene.

Taking advantage of an oversight of the men who were guarding him, Carlos Arturo Mora escaped from the place. Immediately a plan was started to lock him up again and uniformed officers managed to detain him in the municipality of San Jerónimo.

According to some local media, such as El Colombiano, Carlos Arturo Mora, alias Carlota, He is from Labateca, in Norte de Santander, but he was working on a coffee farm in Antioquia.

Likewise, with the investigations that are being carried out, an attempt is made to establish whether the aforementioned feminicide had planned the crime and followed up s to the young woman.
