Two seniors will face trial. They destroyed graves. The reasons they did it are surprising.

As reported by the “Goniec” portal, acts of vandalism occurred at the necropolises in Gończyce and Sobolewo. To the officers' surprise, this was not a typical case, because the perpetrators were not motivated by boredom or the desire to impress others. The perpetrators were also not “standard” in this case. Find out the details!

They were destroying tombstones. They were caught by the police

At the end of last year, families visiting the graves of their loved ones in the cemeteries in Gończyce and Sobolewo were met with a terrible sight. The tombstones were destroyed. Police officers were called to the scene, and thanks to the surveillance footage, they identified the suspects.

Two senior citizens were detained. During questioning by the police, the elderly men revealed why they were destroying the graves. The reasons surprised the officers. It turned out that it was not vandalism for the sake of vandalism, but there were completely different motives behind it.

Both men admitted that the reason for their actions was the fact that during their lives they were in conflict with the deceased, whose graves they destroyed.

The men were charged

A 68-year-old man in Gończyce destroyed a gravestone photograph of a person buried there several times. The losses were estimated at PLN 1,200. In turn, a 72-year-old man in Sobolewo destroyed a gravestone and flowers.

Both seniors were charged. They were accused under Article 262 par. 1 of the Penal Code, which reads: “Anyone who desecrates a corpse, human ashes or the resting place of a deceased person shall be subject to a fine, the penalty of restriction of liberty or imprisonment for up to 2 years.”

Now the vengeful seniors will appear in court. At best, they face a fine, at worst they could end up behind bars for up to two years.

What do you think about it?
