Tkachenko said that in order to deprive the titles of artists supporting the Russian Federation, it is necessary to amend the legislation.

The Ukrainian minister spoke about this on TSN. 19:30.

“The draft law has already been adopted in the first reading, it needs to be amended. Because other artists traveling abroad use the status of an honored or people's artist of Ukraine. They are destroying our cultural front, and this is when Oleg Skrypka had a concert in Germany canceled due to the threat of the left. We made changes, coordinated this with the deputies, and I am convinced that they will be adopted. Then, through the decision of the National Security and Defense Council, the president will have the right to deprive such “comrades” honorary and popular titles. And this applies not only to artists, but also to lawyers and so on,” Tkachenko said.

The Minister of Culture and Information Policy explained that the new bill will allow the National Security and Defense Council to deprive artists and other figures of their status popular and honored. Tkachenko noted that the story of the performer Ani Lorak, who continues to live in Russia, received a special response, but for the sake of foreign tours she remembered that she was a Ukrainian singer.

“The law will have criteria according to who can be deprived of the status of people's and honored and citizens of Ukraine, and Russia and other states”, Tkachenko explained.
