Aaron Carter died without leaving a will, so now, the State of California will have to decide who inherits his assets.

Family sources spoke to TMZ, revealing that Carter had already been advised by a lawyer, who asked him to make her will, especially after having a child. However, the same sources assured that the rapper never did it because of his back and forth with his fiancée Melanie Martin, after she accused him of domestic violence and the authorities took the child from them.

According to the outlet, Prince has been living with Martin's mother since September.

Carter's attorney still asked him to make a will, though he sadly passed away at age 34 in early November for reasons still unknown.

The state of California will define how your assets are distributed.

Under California probate laws, it is Prince, almost a year old, likely to inherit his father's estate, as the “Aaron’s Party” singer was not married at the time of his death.

The family has ensured that Carter was not financially well off when he passed away. Sources say that the singer was almost living hand to hand. His house was for sale, so by selling it, that money could go to his son.

The Page Six site also recently reported that Carter tried to prevent the publisher of his book from publishing a controversial memoir before his death.

“Aaron, he said he wanted nothing to do with this and he stopped, so the fact that the editor says he has a green light, it is not,” his publicist told the aforementioned outlet. “That goes against Aaron's wishes.”

In an excerpt from the “unauthorized” memoir, titled “Aaron Carter: An Incomplete Story of an Incomplete Life,” Carter claimed to have spenta night at Michael Jackson's house and saw the “Bad” singer at ” tight white underwear.”

The younger brother of “Backstreet Boys” singer Nick Carter also wrote about his teenage romance with Hilary Duff, claiming that the “Lizzie McGuire” star was a virgin.

Duff, 35, was quick to slam the “disgusting” memoir.

“It is truly sad that within a week of Aaron's death, there is a publisher who seems to be recklessly publishing a book to profit from this tragedy without taking the proper time or care to verify the validity of their work,” he said in a statement. “Reducing Aaron's life story to what appears to be unverified click bait for profit is disgusting.”
