This Saturday, November 19, at the Casa de Nariño, the presentation of the conclusions delivered by the population in the Binding Regional Dialogue of Bogotá-Region culminated. Among those attending the event were the presidential adviser for the Regions, Luis Fernando Velasco, the director of the National Planning Department (DNP), Jorge Iván González, the Minister of Education, Alejandro Gaviria and the mayoress of Bogotá, Claudia López.< /p>

Citizens learned about the main proposals that were collected at the workshops held at seven strategic points in the city, where inputs were delivered for the construction of the National Development Plan 2022 – 2026.

In the first instance, the director of the DNP spoke about the balance of this event: “National Planning delivered on Tuesday for the consideration of citizens, the pages of the draft of the National Development Plan. They have a huge advantage, they allow us to continue talking in an orderly way”, he stated.

Similarly, González added that, “what we are presenting to the public is the result of the priorities that are being raised in these regional dialogues. At the national level we have 1900 tables, we have systematized, the results are already on the pages through the word clouds. And this government is going to try to respond.”.

Jorge Iván asked citizens to continue participating in the Regional Dialogues: “Read the bases (of the National Development Plan) and tell us what we should improve and how we should improve it“, he concluded.

Later, Luis Fernando Velasco, made his speech and during the words he offered to the citizens this Saturday morning was: “I I ask a question and I ask you, something must be changing since the first observations of the regional dialogues in all corners of Colombia, to change water for cement.”

“According to my modest thesis,Gustavo Petro is complying and talking to people. Democracy is not what I believe but what people believe. This gave me the tone of the democratic mood of the entire government led by Petro, assured the presidential adviser for the Regions .

Velasco pointed out in response to this statement that: “The president asked a right-wing leader to be in the peace talks, many of us are surprised, but the message that Petro sent, first that we have nothing to hide in Total Peace. Second, that the campaign passed and we are all governing, and finally, that the whole country walk to do things well. That is a Democratic president who listens to him because he is in tune with the reality of today's world”, he highlighted.

Regarding Claudia López He thanked the 15,000 people who participated in the 145 tables and the 9 regional dialogues. “The citizens proposed to the Government that the priority issue to be included in the development issue is health, and in particular mental health. The second is education with an emphasis on higher education. The third main issue for Bogotá-Región is security”, clarified the district president.

We reiterate to the National Government that it comply so that the impunity robbing humble citizens cannot be a sport, it has to be a crime with jail, that robbers, abusers have an effective jail”, highlighted López.

To Finally, Alejandro Gaviria, said that, “from the beginning these dialogues were an intention to do three things, the first to be horizontal, we are going to dialogue with the people. We are going to take seriously the way citizens define priorities. We also want citizens to participate in the National Development Plan, not only in the definition of priorities, but also in their execution”.
