These devices draw the most light: turn them off after use

Most people do not turn off electrical appliances, even if they are not in use, and they still consume energy in standby mode, so our electricity bills are imperceptibly increasing.

It turns out that there are several energy-intensive devices that steal energy in standby mode, writes Express. It is better to turn them off if you are not going to use them for the next few hours or even a day.

Satellite TV set-top box

This household appliance draws electricity even when it is in standby mode. Therefore, experts advise disconnecting the set-top box from the network.

Computer

To speed up the login process, many people put their computers into standby mode, but this can increase their energy costs. When the computer is not in use, it still consumes light in standby mode.

Game consoles

Powerful game consoles have a built-in power saving feature. The devices have on/off switches that put them into a low-power standby mode.

When users forget to turn them off completely or turn off the TV while the console is on, this leads to unnecessary costs. Experts note that game consoles account for 6% of electricity costs, so the wire should be unplugged.

In general, you need to understand that any devices that are plugged into an outlet still use electricity. Even in sleep or standby mode, they continue to use energy, so if you go somewhere away from home on the weekend or on vacation – turn off all electrical appliances.
