The United States is working on a new $1 billion military aid package for Ukraine. Three well-informed sources told Reuters.
According to them, US President Joe Biden is still has not signed a decree on a new aid package, so its content and cost may still change.
If the aid package is adopted in its current form, Ukraine will receive ammunition for HIMARS long-range artillery systems and NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems. The new aid package is also to include 50 M113 armored medical vehicles.
The US military aid package to Ukraine is expected to be announced as early as Monday, August 8.
According to Reuters, new package – this is the result of a recent decision by the Pentagon to allow Ukrainians to receive medical care at a US military hospital in Germany near the Ramstein airbase.
Previously, BAGNET reported that the US had already sent Ukraine 16 HIMARS .
On Monday, August 1, the United States approved a new package of defense assistance to Ukraine totaling $550 million. It will include shells for HIMARS and 155-mm ammunition for artillery systems.
