The Witcher season 2: an actor leaves the series because of the Covid-19 New problem for season 2 of The Witcher, the series from Netflix. We have just learned that a new actor recruited this year was finally forced to give up his role because of the Covid-19 epidemic.

The production of season 2 of The Witcher is very complicated. After a filming interrupted for many months, the fault of the Covid-19 epidemic, the global pandemic has just caused new collateral damage. And this time, it's on the casting side that it's happening.

An actor leaves The Witcher because of the Covid-19

At the very beginning of the year, we learned with enthusiasm that Thue Ersted Rasmussen – a Danish comedian, had been cast to play the Witcher Eskel. A role which was logically promising and which already promised us an intense face-to-face with Geralt (Henry Cavill) in view of his size.

Unfortunately, he announced it on his Instagram account, he is now forced to give up this character. ” Due to the reorganization of the filming schedule following the Covid-19, I will no longer be able to play Eskel in The Witcher. It breaks my heart ” he explained, before adding, ” But I remain happy nonetheless. and grateful for the days I was able to spend on set at the start of the year. Everyone was extremely engaged, passionate about this project and it was a truly inspiring experience.

A particularly problematic setback since it suggests that the production will have to recruit another actor for this character and therefore return certain scenes with him. A new waste of time and money that Netflix would have liked to avoid in this already complicated period and which, we hope, will be the last.
