Many The Witcher fans thought that replacing Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia was impossible. After the announcement of his departure, viewers were up in arms when they learned that Liam Hemsworth would be replacing him. The actor had never spoken out until today when he just made this amazing revelation.
< h2>Henry Cavill's replacement doesn't go down well with The Witcher fans
Since the first season of the Netflix TV series adaptation of The Witcher Henry Cavill has played the famous witcher named Geralt of Rivia. The actor who played Superman in the DCU has managed to endear himself to fans in the lead role of the literary saga by Andrzej Sapkowski, who did not hesitate to tackle J.R.R. Tolkien, the author of The Lord of the Rings. So much so that when his departure from the fantasy series was announced, shortly before the broadcast of season 3, a petition gathering hundreds of thousands of signatures circulated. Unfortunately for Cavill fans, his replacement was confirmed and it was the Australian actor and brother of Chris Hemsworth who was announced to reprise the main role of the series The Witcher in season 4.
Note that when his replacement was announced, fans were not enthusiastic. Indeed, Liam Hemsworth was not unanimously popular with the public. Since then, the actor who is taking over the role of The Witcher has not spoken. We were able to discover him in images in the first trailer for season 4 that Netflix had released to keep subscribers waiting. But today, it is in an interview with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos that Hemsworth shared his state of mind at the idea of landing in this series and especially of making a surprising revelation.
Liam Hemsworth makes this incredible revelation
So, two years after the announcement of his arrival in The Witcher, Liam Hemsworth said he was “really excited to play this character because I was a fan of the video game“.While the new actor who plays Geralt of Rivia admits to being a fan of the video game franchise, he explains that before Netflix approached him, he had never read any of Andrzej Sapkowski's books and never watched the Netflix series:
I started playing the video games about ten years ago. And it's still one of the best video games of all time. And Netflix came to me almost two years ago now and said they wanted me to take over. I said, 'Let me watch the TV series and take a look at the books and really get into it.'
Not really appreciated the public, this revelation may not reassure Henry Cavill fans. For now, we still do not know the release date of season 4 of The Witcher on Netflix but the platform would plan this special episode.
