Announced winners of the competition/World Nature Photography Awards 2024

The jury of the World Nature Photography Awards announced this year's winners of the competition. It's dedicated to the best wildlife photographs of 2024.

British photographer Tracey Lund won the top prize for her stunning portrait of a pair of gannets hunting off the coast of the Shetland Islands. This is stated on the website of the World Nature Photography Awards.

The competition includes the categories “Animal portrait”, “Behavior”, “Underwater photo”, “Black and white photo”, “Animals in the city”, ” Photojournalism” and others.

We are very excited to announce our 2024 winners. We are also pleased to present the title of the best World Nature Photographer of the Year to Tracy Lund for her picture “Underwater gannets,” the jury of the award noted.

In the nomination “Animal portraits” the photographer couple Nikol and Lena Remy won with the work “Black fish-frog”. The pictured species of fish is indeed called a “frog” and lives in Australia.

I knew that this black fish lives in a reef where I regularly dive, and I wanted to create a portrait that would emphasize character of this predator lurking in ambush, said Nikolay.

In the “Mammal Behavior” category, the work “Last Seconds” by photographer Alex Brech from Belgium won. The sad footage shows the moment before a cheetah attacks a baby zebra.
