China and other countries must stop supplying components that Russia uses to create weapons, or face new sanctions.
US Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo said this in an interview with Bloomberg Television during a visit to Kyiv, Ukrinform reports.
«We are concerned that Russia is gaining access to key components, especially from China and other countries that allow them to create these weapons» – noted the representative of the Ministry of Finance.
At the same time, he emphasized that the regime in Russia instructed his special services to find ways to circumvent sanctions. In addition, the Russian Federation is working with its allies to obtain critical components for weapons.
"The United States, our allies and partners will be open to sanctions against any company or individual that provides material support of the military industry of Russia. Because we want to be sure that Russia does not have access to the goods necessary for waging war,'' Adeyemo said.
In this context, he expressed his belief that the United States should do more so that the pressure of sanctions does not give Russia's ability to receive goods for military purposes.
As reported by Ukrinform, the US administration has repeatedly stated that they have no confirmation of the direct supply of weapons from China to Russia. However, Washington continues to express concern that Chinese companies are supporting the work of the Russian military-industrial complex with their supplies in the conditions of the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine.
