Military conflict between Kyiv and Moscow may become frozen, as Russia often resorts to such a technique. The Ukrainian authorities must do everything to prevent this.
The war of the Russian Federation* against Ukraine may become frozen, but there are no unequivocal forecasts about the timing of its end yet. The tactic of freezing conflicts and dragging them out for years is inherent in the Kremlin, it is important that Ukraine did not allow this.
This was stated by US Ambassador to NATO Julianne Smith in an interview with Radio Liberty.
Russia could stop the war “tomorrow, if it wanted to,” she said. However, this does not happen, so the US and NATO are trying to put pressure on Moscow in every possible way.
Sooner or later, Russia will realize that the so-called special operation is a strategic failure on many counts. At the same time, Smith says that it is impossible to predict when this will happen.
According to her, the frozen military conflict is “one of the opportunities” for Russia to save face. And the authorities will try to take advantage of it.
She also noted that the international community will “stop any attempts” to illegally annex Ukrainian territory.
