In the American state of Alabama, a man convicted of killing three people was executed using nitrogen. This is the second execution in the world using gas.
The death of 59-year-old Alan Eugene Miller occurred on September 26 at 18:38 local time (September 27 at 2:38 Kyiv time), the Associated Press reports.
The agency writes that when the gas was applied, the convict began to convulse, which lasted almost two minutes.
Alan Eugene Miller was found guilty of murdering three people in 1999. In 2022, an attempt was made to carry out the death sentence using an injection, but the executioner could not find a vein to inject the drug.
