The US Army will receive the improved Iron Fist system of Bradley fighting vehicles

>> The United States will receive Bradley BMPs improved by the Iron Fist system. The new protection systems for the Bradley infantry fighting vehicle will be installed over the next three years, until July 31, 2027.

It is worth noting that the financing of this acquisition comes from the budget allocated for assistance to Ukraine. As part of this initiative, the US Army will receive upgraded Bradley vehicles equipped with the Iron Fist system to replace older M2A2 Bradley models in its inventory.

The Iron Fist active defense system was developed in the early 2000s for the Israel Defense Forces and was offered for export to various international customers. The system is designed for interception and neutralization of guided anti-tank missiles and rocket salvo systems. In addition, it is currently being tested to intercept armor-piercing sabotage projectiles.

In addition to the Iron Fist countermeasures, the upgraded Bradley IFVs will be equipped with on-board radar systems capable of detecting incoming missiles. These systems will work in conjunction with a combined warning system that includes sensors to detect laser radiation, as well as an additional module for space monitoring.

This contract follows the recent unveiling of the upgraded M2A4E1 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle. The addition of the Iron Fist system further enhances the defensive and operational capabilities of the machine.

In addition, Israeli defense company Elbit Systems recently signed a contract to supply the Iron Fist defense system to Swedish subsidiary BAE Systems Hägglunds, underscoring growing international interest to this protection technology.
