The United States sanctioned the Russian Industry Minister and entities linked to the Wagner Group, the mercenaries who answer to Putin

The United States on Thursday sanctioned Russian government officials such as the minister of Industry and Commerce, Denis Manturov, as well as five entities and one individual linked to the Russian Wagner mercenary group, in an attempt to damage Moscow's offensive against Ukraine.
The Department of State of the USA also included in these sanctions nine people and four companies for being part of the Russian military complex or being related to sanctioned subjects, and identified two yachts and an aircraft as blocked assets.
Among the sanctioned charges are Manturov, who controls the defense industry and the production of war material for Russia's use in Ukraine, as well as the chairman of the Rostov Region Electoral Commission, Andrey Burov, who is responsible for facilitating illegitimate referendums in the occupied regions of Ukraine, according to Washington.
Likewise, three officials of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service -Dmitry Bezrukikh, Arkadiy Gostev and Ivan Prokopenko- were also designated for allegedly having facilitated the recruitment of Russian prisoners to the Wagner group, an organization of mercenaries of Russian origin considered a private military company.

In parallel, the State Department imposed new sanctions on members linked to Wagner, previously designated by the US and its allies for being involved in the war in Ukraine.
In total, five entities related to the Wagner group they have been sanctioned for providing air transport to their members or acting on behalf of Wagner's leader, Yevgeniy Prigozhin, or the military group itself. One of them is Charter Green Light, whose CEO, Aleksei Malyarevich, has also been sanctioned.
Other appointees are individuals and companies that are part of the network of the Russian oligarch Vladimir Potanin -sanctioned last December- and businessman Sergei Adonev, who acts as a financier of Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to the State Department.
In addition, a number of entities have been sanctioned due to their alleged involvement in the Russian military complex.
As a result of the sanctions, property and assets held by those individuals or companies are blocked. in US territory, and Americans are prohibited from carrying out transactions with them.
