The United States imposed sanctions against the network that supplied the Houthis with components for missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles

The US imposed restrictions against companies and individuals in Iran and China, as well as vessels registered in Gabon and Russia, which provided the Houthis with illegal supplies of components necessary for the deployment of missiles and UAVs.

This is stated in the message of the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Treasury Department (OFAC).

“Today, OFAC imposes sanctions against one person and three companies that facilitated the procurement of weapons and smuggling operations of the Ansarallah organization, commonly known as the Houthis,” the statement said.

In particular, restrictions are being implemented against key procurement and supply operators located in Iran and the People's Republic of China. They provided the Houthis with materials and dual-use components necessary for the production, maintenance and deployment of missiles and UAVs against the interests of the US and its allies, the US department said.

In addition, OFAC imposed sanctions against one organization and two vessels – IZUMO (Gabon-flagged) and FRUNZE (linked to Russia), which illegally transported Houthi and Iranian commercial cargo.
