The United States expressed concern about China over its support for the Russian defense sector

The United States of America expressed its concern about China over its support for the Russian defense sector.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine  with reference to “Voice of America”.

It is noted that this issue was discussed by US Assistant Secretary of State Kurt Campbell with Executive Deputy Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China Ma Zhaoxu on March 27.

It was said that Beijing supports Moscow's defense industrial base.

According to a State Department official, the phone call is part of an ongoing effort to maintain open lines of communication between the United States and China.

China Relations and Russia

China began to maintain closer ties with the Russian Federation after the start of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. In particular, Beijing refused to join the sanctions imposed by the United States against the Kremlin. China and the Russian Federation share a mutual interest in challenging US dominance in the world order, as their relations with democratic countries are becoming increasingly strained.

Last October, the US Department of Defense stated that China, despite its denial, supplies Russia with weapons. In particular, unmanned aerial vehicles, small arms and equipment.

At the same time, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi assured his Ukrainian colleague Dmytro Kuleba that Beijing does not supply lethal weapons to Russia.

In American intelligence was recently told that China has recently been providing Russia with economic support and security assistance.
