The United States of America stands for the elimination of nuclear weapons in the world. However, it recognizes that there are certain factors that hinder the achievement of this goal.

“Despite the challenges in the current security environment, the United States will continue to engage with other nuclear-weapon states where possible, to reduce nuclear risks, and we will do so with realistic expectations,” the official said.
According to him, nuclear disarmament is hampered by Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, as well as nuclear threats from the Kremlin .
Furthermore, Kohl added that the issue of nuclear non-proliferation is under pressure:
- China's modernization and expansion of nuclear weapons;
- development of nuclear weapons Iran;
- North Korea is preparing a new nuclear test .
