The Ukrainian horror film “The Witch of Konotop” will be released on Netflix and “Kyivstar TV”

Ukrainian film directed by Andriy Kolesnyk “The Witch of Konotop” will be released on the streaming platforms Netflix and Kyivstar TV on October 30.

This was announced on the Facebook page “Netflix Ukraine”.

The film directed by Andrii Kolesnyk tells the story of a Ukrainian woman from Konotop who, having lost her beloved on the first day of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, turns out to be an ancient witch. Wanting revenge, she regains her witch powers and deals with the Russian invaders.

The main roles in the film were performed by Tetyana Malkova and Taras Tsymbalyuk. Actors Pavlo Vyshnyakov, Ivan Sharan, Yaroslav Shakhtorin, Artem Sagitov, Serhiy Sosnovtsev, Vladyslav Verbytskyi, Rostyslav Fomenko, Mykita Slobodenyuk, Mykola Golovchak, Serhiy Anipchenko played the Russians on the screen.

The authors of the tape also involved the military consultants who helped to get military equipment: the real armored personnel carrier appears in the frame, which was “trophied” on the Zhytomyr highway in the first days of the start of the full-scale invasion.

The film by Andrii Kolesnyk and Film.UA closes the top five in the rating of the highest-grossing Ukrainian films by Dzuga MDB. According to their data, 347,131 viewers watched “The Witch of Konotop” since the start of the rental on big screens.

The film collected a total of UAH 55,612,709 in box office fees, from now on it will be available for viewing online on the American streaming platform Netflix, as well as on “Kyivstar TV”.
