The Ukrainian film “The Porcelain War” was nominated for the American Film Critics Award

The Ukrainian documentary film “Porcelaina War” about the war in Ukraine received two nominations at the Critics' Choice Documentary Awards.

The film is presented in two categories: “Best New Documentary Director” and “Best Political Film”. The winners will be announced on November 10 at The Edison Ballroom in Manhattan.

Cinematists from the USA, Ukraine and Australia worked on the production of “Porcelain War”. The picture tells about three artists of porcelain animalistics from Ukraine. They remain in Kharkiv, which has been under Russian strikes since the first day of the invasion, and continue to create during the war: creating porcelain figurines and decorating houses destroyed by shelling with them.

Documentary Critics Association Vice President Christopher Campbell recognized this year's nominees that they offer new ways of seeing the world and a deeper understanding of difficult stories.

Last year, the Ukrainian film “20 Days in Mariupol” by Mstislav Chernov, Yevhen Maloletka and Vasylisa Stepanenko won two Critics' Choice Documentary Awards. : for “Best directorial debut” and as “Best political documentary”.
