The Ukrainian combat robot Gnome will receive AI support for recognizing voice commands and objects

The combat robot Gnome, created by the Ukrainian company Temerland military, will now support the functions of the Laska platform. The developer announced this on his Facebook page.

The robot will be able to be controlled using voice commands. Recognition of objects and commands will be performed by a neural network capable of processing encoded sounds, such as birdsong or ultrasound.

Gnome was first introduced at Security 2.0 last fall. This ground-based drone can covertly deliver ammunition, evacuate the wounded and observe the enemy at a distance of up to 5 km. In addition, it can be used as a radio signal repeater.

The Laska 2.0 platform is designed for intelligence gathering, perimeter protection and fire support. It is able to perform tasks in an autonomous mode thanks to the on-board NVIDIA Jetson computers that ensure the operation of the neural network. Control of the platform and the turret is carried out using programmable PLC controllers.
