Ukrainian actor of the Ivan Franko Theater Oleksandr Rudynskyy played the role of the Eyeless Bandit in the Netflix series “Decameron”, based on the collection of short stories by Giovanni Boccaccio. >
In this project, he became the only actor from Eastern Europe. The main caste included British and Americans. The actor told about this on Instagram.
Olexander Rudynsky will be seen in three episodes of the series.
I think every actor would love to be part of a Netflix original series or movie. I remember how my first tests were dropped. I did make-up, used a special lens, because I have a character without an eye. He understood that he had to impress with his approach. However, I treat this without excessive romanticism, because I realize that this is only the beginning. But in general, I think that Ukrainian actors are quite competitive and everything depends only on us, – Oleksandr Rudynskyi believes.
A professional team, stuntmen and doubles took part in the creation of the series. The filming of some scenes lasted for several shooting days. For example, the final shots of the first series were shot for four days. Filming took place in Rome, at the Cinecittà studio.
Most of the filming took place in an Italian studio where Federico Fellini filmed, my favorite director Paolo Sorrentino filmed The Young Pope, and Martin Scorsese filmed Gangs of New York. In addition, the director of the series “Decameron” was Michael Appendahl, who filmed “Fargo”, “American Horror Story”, the series “Hollywood”. Therefore, I understood all the responsibility and really wanted to get this project, – said Oleksandr Rudynskyi.
Currently, the actor is at the stage of negotiations with the next no less large-scale project, and in a few years he wants to act together with Leonardo DiCaprio.< /p>
